H + S | Mt. Baker Elopement
H + S spent the night in a cozy cabin nestled in the woods below Mt. Baker. They wanted to have an intentionally slow morning together, making pancakes, sipping coffee in their PJs. The Airbnb they chose had a hot tub so it was such an obvious choice to spend some time relaxing in the hot tub before getting ready for a day of adventures!

After helping each other get dressed and ready for the day, we drove up to the mountain. H + S are outdoorsy and their vehicle is all rigged out for a good time in the mountains, it was so much fun to get some special photos with their truck since it takes them all around the state together. Seeing it with the mountains as a backdrop, really fit the vibe of the day.

H + S wanted to spend time in the places they love to visit together, so we spent some time traipsing through beautiful meadows and down to a lake with the most beautiful bridge that felt like it jumped right off the pages of a fairytale. The light was getting so beautiful and I was literally freaking out because of how beautiful the entire 360* The scene was.

Mt Baker was pretty covered in clouds that day, but Mt Shuksan was showing off in style. We ventured up to Artist Point for a picnic, cake, champagne and a beautiful sunset. This area is just stunning with so many trails and alpine lakes with mountains for backdrops. It’s almost unreal. From the parking lot at Artist Point, there are lots of trails to choose from, as you hike you will be passing small alpine lakes. Depending on the time of the year and snow melt, some may be really small, but they make for absolutely iconic images with reflections of you and the mountains behind you. It’s definitely worth it to plan some time into your day for a hike up to a lake. One tip: bring bug repellent. There can be a lot of bugs up there, especially near the lakes!

After catching some views and vibes along a beautiful alpine lake we stopped to enjoy a beautiful picnic to celebrate. What’s better than cake, champagne and charcuterie surrounded by peaks and sunset. Before it was dark we were back at the cars making the drive down the mountain as the last glimmers of light faded.
